About Tromsø Trip

Tromsø Trip is an independent travel planner dedicated to Tromsø and the wider Arctic Norway region — from northern lights chasing and whale watching in the Skjervøy fjords to dog sledding in Tamok Valley and midnight sun hikes on Tromsøya. Our mission: help you plan a genuinely good Arctic trip, without the hype or the sales pitch.

What we cover

We cover Tromsø and Arctic Norway in depth: aurora tour reviews and honest season advice (September to April, peak November to February); real whale-watching logistics (Skjervøy, late October to early February); dog sledding, reindeer and Sami culture experiences; fjord cruises and snowmobile tours; day trips to Senja, Lyngen and Sommarøy with drive times; and practical planning tools built into the site.

Prices are given in NOK — the local currency — so you know what things actually cost. The site is available in eight languages — English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and Polish — so that non-English speakers get the same depth of information.

Our approach

Every guide on this site is based on thorough research, real travel experience, and a commitment to honesty. We tell you when an aurora tour is overpriced, when a whale-watching operator has a poor track record, and when a day trip is genuinely ambitious given Arctic daylight and road conditions. We think travelers deserve to know this upfront.

Journey times are realistic for Arctic conditions (ice, polar night, ferry crossings). If something is worth skipping, we say so.
